Some of our favorite include Ocean Path and Thunder Hole, The Beehive, and Beech Mountain Fire Tower. Be sure to attend a free Ranger Program or two; we always learn something neat and new about the place we’re visiting.
No trip to Acadia is complete without exploring Bar Harbor. As the largest community on Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor provides shopping and dining opportunities as well as the hub for the Island Explorer, Acadia’s shuttle system (which we highly recommend utilizing). You can also complete the unique hike out to Bar Island when the tide is out – but make sure you time it properly so you can make it back before tide comes back in.
9. Cape Cod National Seashore, MA
